Fair question, given our vast amounts of updates recently.
I can say… We’re working on it!
And too many other projects too, apparently. (Look at the affiliates, and that’s not all of them!)
But the doc ain’t dead yet!
He is, admittedly though, rather comatose.
Again, working on that.
Those several other projects we’re working on are all about trying to make this site better (like testing out some new art procedures, and mastering our blog software). We’ve got a lot of stuff we still need to bring over from the old site, but we’re going to wait on some of that because the main fella behind ComicPress (the WordPress theme we use) announced he’s ditching updating that that theme, and coming out with something new called ComicEasel, which is due out in December. We don’t want to do too much to this site, then have to redo it again when we switch to this new theme. We may still upload some new material before then, but that’s still under debate.
Still, we do hope to get more content out, and on a regular basis again. Quite frankly, three or four comics a year is pretty pathetic. We do realize that.
However, there are comics out there that update about that much, and are pretty awesome (I’d like to think we’re like that, but we never published a book…). An example of that would be Gone With the Blastwave. Awesome read, and it’s companion book makes a great stocking stuffer for your friends without internet, or are too busy playing MMORGs to do anything else (might need to pass it too them when they’re on the toilet if they’re like an old roommate of mine).
Not that some other comic’s reasoning for slow production is a viable excuse for ours. We could say there are real world things to deal with like taking care of kids, teaching class, finishing work tasks, brushing teeth, picking ticks off the dog, or you could say we’ve just been a bit a lazy, and that wouldn’t be too far from truth.
Your comment has been noted, and we will try our hardest to seem a little less lazy in the future. A kick in the pants does help from time to time (at least when not hitting the jewels!).
Almost a year ago, eh? I guess not really then.
I do have a few scraps of art to put up eventually,
but yeah,
hard to say this comic isn’t retired.
There are too many other projects on the table right now.
Still, there are things I’d still like to do….
coming back….like ever?
